The raw food cooking has been in practice from the very ancient period before Christ. The advantages of eating by raw food cooking were known in the oriental counties like India. There are traces during the Vedic period that man had his diet according to his caste or religion.

The people had been grouped into three -- Satvic, Rajasik and Thamasik. The Highest noble class of people has been called as Brahmins. They were the people set apart to render cult to God, perform Puja to God and Guide the people and the Rulers with the strength of Vedas and other sacred Scriptures. These Brahmins belonged to Satvic class. They had to strictly abide by the law which forbade them to eat meat, fish and cold food. They had to take only milk, curds ghee and vegetables except Tomato, Onion, garlic, Potato, Papaya, Brinjal, French Beans, Carrot, Beetroot, Radish, Cabbage, Cauliflower, drumsticks, and Bottle gourd. These vegetables had been prohibited to them because they would provoke sexual stimuli and lead them to heaviness and ungodliness.

The Brahmins who follow such a diet are known to have very sharp memory and intelligence, the glowing skin and they radiate in their face. They are slim and swift, forever healthy. They would treat their ailments by application herbal roots, nectar, bask of the shrubs which were so much effective. They had a great preference to eat the raw sprouted nuts which kept them very healthy slim and light in their movements. They would learn and practice the Pranayama- the control of the breath and the concentration. The food and the practical rites and practices of the Brahmins kept them young healthy, sharp in intelligence and excel in science, physics and Mathematics. Earlier, the majority of the doctors and scientists were Brahmins.

The warriors and commercialists eat meat, fish and consume alcohol. The result of their life is lust, heaviness and every kind of sinful and offensive life. The lower caste people used to consume the stale food and they were considered as mean and ignorant people

Today it's a universally accepted principle that raw fruits and vegetables are ideal for a healthy and long life.
